Lung Cancer Learning Collaborative

OVERVIEW 

The 2025-2026 Kentucky Lung Cancer Screening Learning Collaborative is a series of interactive learning sessions where colleagues share their experience and expertise in implementing high quality lung cancer screening across the Commonwealth.  

Hosted by the Kentucky Cancer Consortium, the Markey Cancer Center Quality Implementation of Lung Cancer Screening (QUILSTM) Group and the Kentucky Department for Public Health, the 2025-2026 Collaborative is the second iteration of this popular learning community and continues to evolve under the direction of Dr. Jennifer Redmond Knight, Elaine Russell, Katie Bathje, Allyson Yates, Amanda Beckett and Dr. Timothy Mullett at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Jamie Studts at the University of Colorado and Leigh Ann Holt at the University of Kentucky King’s Daughters Medical Center. MEETING FORMAT 

The collaborative meets for 1 – 1 ½ hour virtual sessions via Zoom. Meetings include: 

  • Educational presentations from subject matter experts 
  • Best practice sharing with like-minded colleagues 
  • Interactive discussions and problem solving amongst participants 
  • Exposure to tools and resources to advance your LCS efforts 

 PARTICIPATION 

  • Eight sessions are being conducted from June 2025 through June 2026, addressing lung cancer screening topics ranging from promotion, to coding, to clinician engagement.  
  • Attendance at all eight sessions is recommended but not required.  
  • Who should participate? Lung Cancer Screening Program staff and supporters, such as: 
  • Healthcare providers (Primary Care, Radiology, Pulmonology, Cardiothoracic Surgery) 
  • Note: No continuing education credits are provided for this series 
  • Health systems administrators 
  • Navigators 
  • Social workers 
  • Radiology technicians 
  • Respiratory therapists 
  • Public health professionals 
  • Representatives of state agencies 
  • Members of community-based organizations 
  • Other partners in lung cancer screening 
  • Participation is free!
