The Kentucky Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Program, in partnership with the Tobacco Prevention Enhancement Site and in collaboration with the Kentucky Cancer Consortium, is hosting a Summit entitled "Midwest Academy: Direct Action Organizing" on September 4-5, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lexington. The 2-day event will include programming from the Midwest Academy, a leading national training institute which looks to advance movements for social change by teaching a strategic, rigorous, results-oriented approach to social action and organization building.
Registration will be limited to 100 participants.

The Kentucky Cancer Consortium, in partnership with the Kentucky Women's Cancer Screening Program proudly hosted a Spring Summit entitled: "Collaborate Kentucky: Roads to Cancer Prevention". The Summit will be held in the Marriott Griffin Gate Hotel and Resort in Lexington, KY.

The 2007 Summit of the Kentucky Cancer Consortium (KCC) aimed to showcase progress made in addressing the state’s cancer burden; to facilitate best practice sharing; to combine resources; and to provide networking opportunities for Regional Cancer Partners, Steering Committee members, and others involved with the important work of the KCC.
