In honor of May's designation as "National Melanoma Awareness Month", the Hazard-Perry County Cancer Coalition, in conjunction with the Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky, are pleased to announce their upcoming free skin cancer screening event on Saturday, May 10th, from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. at the PCCEK office. The office is located on the Highway 15 By-Pass in Hazard. No appointment is necessary.

Kim Gayheart, ARNP, with PCCEK, will be providing a free visual examination of the skin in addition to various community partners providing sun safety information and activties for children.

The Hazard-Perry County Cancer Coalition’s
“Get Screened for a Flat Screen”
Colorectal Cancer Awareness/Screening Contest
Co-Sponsored by Ace Clinique

Have you or someone you know received a colonoscopy as a screening test for colorectal cancer recently?  Do you need a little extra incentive to undergo a colonoscopy?  If, so, you may be eligible to enter into a drawing for a 20” LCD/DVD combo flat screen television set.

Contest Rules:

  1. Person must live in Perry County.
  2. Person must be aged 18 or older.
  3. Person must have received a colonoscopy as a screening test for colorectal cancer between March 1, 2007 and April 15, 2008.
  4. Only one entry per person is allowed.
  5. Entry forms can be picked up and must be returned to Ace Clinique in Hazard between normal clinic hours.
  6. The Hazard-Perry County Cancer Coalition reserves the right to ask entrants to confirm their residence in Perry County, their age, and information related to the date of the colonoscopy, name of the provider performing the colonoscopy, and the location at which the colonoscopy was received.
